Tips & Tricks: Perform your network

Live Art Seminar from 19 21 March 2010, in cooperation with Kunstsalon Hildesheim With BBB Johannes Deimling (http://www.bbbjohannesdeimling.de)

The aim of this three days workshop is to give an insight into and provide a kind of Starterkit for the world wide Live Art Network and is thus especially addressed at young and emerging Live Art artists.

Especially for experimental Live Art, the established art market is usually seen as a nearly inaccessible area. Sidestepping this market system, Live Art founded a flexible and successful network for artists to present their work, enter into an exchange with other artists and to open up opportunities for its members to work on a highly professional level outside of the established art market system .

The international artist BBB Johannes Deimling will provide the basics for a successful access to this network and for an effective acting inside of it.

Amongst other things, this seminar will be working towards the answers to the following questions:

What is a network, how is it working and what are the possibilities to place myself inside of it?

From where do I get the information that is valuable to me and what are the strategies I can use to find and select more efficiently from this overflow of information?

How do I use social networks like Facebook, YouTube, Skype and Twitter for my art work and what is the right way to develop a portfolio according to the requirements of these formats? What do I need to be aware of using mailing-lists and how can I place my own website in a more prominent position?

Where and how can I find announcements for residencies or festivals which match my own artistic profile and interests and how do I find alternative ways of funding?

In short, this seminar will highlight the organizational and logistic aspects of (net-)working as a Live Art artist and by this try to show you ways to work more independently on an artistic level as well.
