There has also been a camera team supporting the festival for five years, who capture the productions and the festival highlights on film. The Zoom team also run themselves as an independent group. Their main task is to develop a concept for the documentation and conversion of the festival into film. Two productions should emerge from the filmed material: a short trailer to be presented at the Final Night party on the Saturday of the festival week, and a longer documentary to be premiered at the festival the following year. The Zoom team has complete artistic freedom with regards to this concept.

The trailer shows the spectacular flashmob performance of the American group, ImprovEverywhere, who were guest performers at the ARENA Festival 2008 and had the power to momentarily bring the Erlangen town centre to a grinding halt.
