ARENA Spots

Spots is an independent ARENA Festival magazine produced by an editing team that changes yearly. They review each of the productions seen during the day overnight, so that the newest edition is ready for the team, artists, helpers, and festival audience to pick up the next day hot off the press. It is the editorial team’s responsibility to critically examine the productions in both German and English, as well as capturing the entire festival’s atmosphere in words and pictures. Taking photos is therefore also a part of the Spots team’s duties.

The team works as a complete, self-contained organization – from the layout to the finance, from looking for a printer to finding a suitable editorial office. Everything, including the question as to whether there should be a chief editor or not, lies in the team’s own hands.
